This is our adventure.
We spent months, no, years, getting ready. We purchased ‘Sea Venture’ in the spring of 2014. When we purchased Sea Venture, we never imagined that we would invest in so many additional changes. She was certainly sea worthy and had been extensively cruised and well maintained. But we did soon find the things that we wanted to change and the upgrades we wanted to make to make her ours. Sometimes it feels like all we have been doing in the past 5 years is fixing her up. We did get a few good adventures in. We spent the first summer on the west coast of Vancouver Island, BC, just getting to know her.
We spent the summers of 2015 and 2016 poking around the San Juan Islands. We did an epic trip in 2017 to Haida Gwaii, 70 miles off the BC coast. This prompted our first major refit, so we could stabilize the boat. Then we did a grand Alaska adventure in 2018, enjoyed the stabilization and the amazing weather and scenery we experienced. In 2019, work kept us at the dock, and we ventured out very little. The year 2020 has been strange indeed. This story starts in 2020.
